Terms of sale
These govern the purchase of a place on the board from @jr_persico.
1. What is sold
A placement: your brand name, logo and link shown on one of 15 places on the globe and in the board, for as long as nobody pays more, within a series lasting 14 days. It is a digital service supplied by us.
It is not a donation, not a charitable contribution, and not an investment. You are not giving money to anybody through this site. It confers no ownership, no right over the location named, and no association with any organisation working there.
2. Price and payment
Prices are shown in euros, VAT included. The rate is the one that applies where you are — 20% in France — and the amount is shown to you before you pay. Payment is taken in full and immediately, by card, through Stripe. The placement starts as soon as the payment succeeds.
To take a place you must pay at least €5 or 5% more than the amount currently holding it, whichever is greater.
3. No withdrawal right, and no refund
The service is supplied in full immediately after payment. By paying, you expressly ask for it to start straight away and acknowledge that you therefore lose the 14-day right of withdrawal that would otherwise apply to a consumer purchase.
Payments are not refunded. If somebody pays more than you, your placement ends and the payment stays with us — that is the mechanic, and it is why three people paying for one place pay three times rather than the largest of the three.
4. The placement is revocable
We may remove a brand name, logo or link, without refund, if it infringes someone's rights, is unlawful, impersonates another party, or associates a brand with a disaster in a way we judge to be exploitative. You confirm you are entitled to use the logo and name you upload.
5. What we give
For each place, we commit to pay out 95% of our net revenue generated by that place — our takings from it excluding VAT — to an organisation responding at that place.
We publish which organisation received it, and how much, when the series closes. If no organisation responding at a place can be paid — none identified, or the transfer cannot be made — that amount is paid to another place in the same series, and the publication says so. It does not stay with us.
We pay through Goodstack, which deducts its own fee from that amount and transfers on its own schedule. So 95% is what we pay out, not what the organisation receives after that fee, and a figure published at a close is what we committed and paid — not a confirmation that it has already landed.
This is a commitment about our own revenue, made by us, after we have been paid. No part of your payment is held for anyone, and you are not donating to anybody through this site.
6. The places shown
The locations and the events named on the globe are real and drawn from public sources. Naming them is context for the series. It does not mean money reaches them, and no organisation working there endorses this site or is connected to it.
